(An Investigation into Energy and the National Fuel Distribution Conspiracy)
Chapter 1 — The Sputtering Morning in East Java
“Detective Rio, this is strange. All these bikes broke down after refueling at the same gas station,” said Police Chief AKBP Agus Dwi Suryanto, pointing at the growing list of reports. “We suspect the fuel was mixed with something—possibly ethanol or water.”
Detective Rio Ardiansyah, appointed as an energy investigation consultant by the National Police Headquarters and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), furrowed his brow.
“Fuel-injected engines rarely fail simultaneously like this—unless the fuel system is contaminated on a large scale.”
He took a sample of gasoline from one of the fuel tanks, shook it gently, and held it against the sunlight. A faint transparent layer floated at the bottom—like water or alcohol.
“This isn’t pure gasoline,” he murmured. “But the real question is—who mixed it, and why?”
Chapter 2 — Field Inspection under the Scorching Jombang Sun
“Visually, the fuel looks normal,” said Inspector Heru Prastyo.
Rio placed a few drops of the fuel into his portable lab device. After applying a chromatography reagent, the liquid shifted into a blue-green hue—a clear sign of ethanol content above 10%.
He sighed deeply.
“With ethanol levels this high, motorcycle injection systems can fail. But Pertamina would never distribute fuel of this quality… unless someone tampered with it during transit.”
Chapter 3 — The Phantom Tanker Trail in Bojonegoro
Through Pertamina Patra Niaga’s distribution logs, Rio traced the journey of the fuel from the Gresik terminal to various gas stations across Lamongan, Tuban, and Bojonegoro.
On his digital map, one entry stood out—a tanker truck with license plate B 9742 PT that had made double refueling stops at two separate depots, and then failed to return within the expected timeframe.
“This truck stopped at an unlicensed warehouse near Babat,” Rio noted grimly.
Under his UV flashlight, faint purple traces appeared across the drum surfaces.
“This mixture was designed to cut costs—but it violates the RON 90 fuel standard,” he said coldly. “Whoever did this could destroy thousands of engines across East Java.”
Chapter 4 — Clash Behind the Refinery Gates
When Rio presented his findings to Commission XII of the Indonesian Parliament, the closed-door meeting turned heated.
Chairman Bambang Patijaya glared at the report.
“So you’re saying the ethanol mixture didn’t come from Pertamina?”
“Correct,” Rio replied firmly. “A private syndicate funneled cheap ethanol into the distribution tanks. They exploited loopholes in the logistics control system and manipulated digital shipping records.”
“And worse,” Rio continued, “the mixture has already reached gas stations in Lamongan, Bojonegoro, and Jombang. If not contained, this could spread across all of East Java.”
Chapter 5 — Midnight Operation
On the night of October 29, 2025, Rio led a covert raid on the illegal warehouse in Babat.
Inside, three technicians were caught red-handed, mixing stolen Pertalite fuel with 96% industrial ethanol.
One of them, a logistics operator named Wira Santoso, broke down under questioning.
“Our boss told us to mix just a little to save costs. Said the ethanol came from a biofuel plant. We were just following orders.”
Rio’s voice was calm, but his eyes were hard.
“What you mixed wasn’t just fuel—you’ve poisoned public trust and caused thousands of people to suffer.”
Chapter 6 — The Report to Jakarta
The next morning, Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia received the final report from Rio and the Lemigas technical team.
“The conclusion is clear,” Rio stated, handing over the documentation. “Illegal blending occurred during distribution, not at the Pertamina refinery.”
He presented laboratory results, digital shipping logs, and witness testimonies.
Minister Bahlil nodded gravely.
“We’ll take firm action. And Rio—I want you to oversee the recovery process. The public deserves the truth.”
Chapter 7 — Epilogue: The Engines Roar Again
At a small workshop, mechanic Anas grinned.
“Engines are running fine again. Looks like the fuel’s back to normal.”
“As long as fuel remains the lifeblood of the people,” he murmured, “there will always be those tempted to taint it for profit.”
He started his motorcycle. The engine purred softly—steady, clean, flawless.
Postscript
Detective Rio’s investigation proved that truth in the energy sector often hides beneath layers of economic ambition and political manipulation.

Rio menghela napas panjang.
“Benar,” jawab Rio tegas.
Beberapa anggota komisi saling pandang.
Bab 7 — Epilog: Suara Mesin Kembali Normal
